Mr. Rodrigo Morales, Regional Sales, Latin America/Caribbean
Rodrigo Morales began his affiliation with TTI as a Regional Sales Representative for Latin America/Caribbean after retiring in December 2006 from a 33 year career with British American Tobacco. Rodrigo is a native of Chile and will remain on location to assist TTI in the development of the South American market.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Agronomy from Catholic University of Santiago, Chile, Rodrigo - following in his Father's footsteps - took a position with Compania Chilena de Tabacos ("CCT") (a BAT operating unit in Chile) in the Leaf Department in 1974. This first job with BAT saw Rodrigo providing technical assistance to farmers of burley, flue-cured, Oriental and dark air-cured tobacco. After this initial assignment, Rodrigo moved to R&D and in 1983 he joined Product Development - an area where he would remain with increasing responsibilities until his retirement.
Rodrigo was promoted in 1990 and transferred to a BAT operating unit in Venezuela - Cigarerra Bigott - for a three year stay - returning to his post in Chile until 1995. At this juncture, Rodrigo and his family moved to Monterrey, Mexico to what was then a BAT affiliate named Cigarerra La Moderna, which subsequently became a wholly owned operating unit of BAT, now known as BAT Mexico.
Over the years Rodrigo was responsible for primary processing (including casings and top flavors), secondary processing (filter rod and cigarette making, and packing), QC functions related to manufacturing, total cigarette production cost reduction, and regional product development.
During his tenure in Mexico, Rodrigo was instrumental in the consolidation of five factories into the current sole production site in Monterrey. Most recently, Rodrigo was on a team that BAT's prestigious Golden Leaf Award for the transfer of production from the BAT operating unit in Canada to the Monterrey factory.
At home in the countryside of Chile, Rodrigo is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and horseback riding. He is also a restorer and aficionado of classic cars. One of his favorites is a fully restored 1936 Chevy. Rodrigo is married with five children.

“Joining TTI gives me an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly qualified team and to transfer my expertise and knowledge to our colleagues in the Latin American region. TTI is the best company I found that has 100% consumer expectations and customer satisfaction in mind throughout the flavor development cycle.” |
